MedEx Neotest Multi-Drug 5 Test Kit Description

UNDERSTANDING THE RESULT: A positive test result does not always represent that drugs are present in the sample. A negative test result does not always represent that drugs are not present in the sample. There are a number of factors that may influence the reliability of drug tests. Certain drugs of abuse tests are more accurate than others.
Preliminary Positive Result: Neotest Rapid Drug Tests are considered "screening tests". These tests only provide preliminary results. As with all diagnostic tests, a definitive clinical diagnosis should not be based on the results of a single test, but should only be made by a physician after all clinical and laboratory findings have been evaluated.
Negative Result: A negative result indicates there are no drugs present in the sample, or not enough drugs in the sample to be considered a preliminary positive test result.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA) has established "cut-off" level when testing for drugs of abuse. Neotest Rapid Drug Test is manufactured to conform to those government guidelines. Screening tests may not detect amounts of drugs in a urine sample that are below the cut-off level. Therefore, some level of drugs may be present in a urine sample, but the sample would still be considered a NEGATIVE screening result if the level was below the cut-off level.

TEST LIMITATION: 1. This product is designed for use with human urine only and is not reusable.
2. Other drugs in the sample may affect the results of the test.
3. Collecting urine sample prior to drugs reaching the urine or after the drugs have left the individuals body may provide negative results.
4. There is always a possibility that false results will occur due to the presence of interfering substances in the urine and/or factors beyond the control of the manufacturer, such as technical or procedural errors associated with the testing.
5. Adulterants such as bleach or other strong oxidizing agents, when added to urine specimens, may produce inaccurate test results regardless of the analysis method used. If this occurs, retest using a new urine sample and a new test kit.
6. Drinking large amounts of liquids may dilute the urine sample causing the drugs (if present) to not be detected.
7. Immunologically interfering substances such as those used in antibody therapy treatments may invalidate this assay.
8. This test is a qualitative screening assay and will not determine quantitative concentration levels or the level of intoxication.
9. As with all diagnostic tests, a definitive clinical diagnosis should not be based on the results of a single tests, but should only be made by a physician after all clinical and laboratory findings have been evaluated.
10. A positive test result does not always indicate an individual has taken the drug illegally as the drug can be administered legally.
11. The Neotest Rapid Drug Test is not reusable.
12. Liability is limited to the purchase price of this test kit.
Neotest Multi-Drug Dip Card indicates if one or more prescription or illegal drugs are present in a urine sample. The test detects the presence of prescription and illegal drugs including: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, methampethamine, amphetamines, benzodiazepine, methadone, tricyclic antidepressants and ecstasy.
This test is done in two steps. The first step is the preliminary testing with the test kit. The second step occurs if the test suggests that drugs may be present, and involves a sample being sent to a laboratory for additional testing.
Prescription drugs of abuse: Prescription drugs of abuse are drugs that are obtained legally with a doctor's prescription, but are being taken for a non-medical purpose. Non-medical purposes include taking the medication for longer than for the prescribed duration or for a purpose other than what was clinically intended. Medications are not drugs of abuse if taken according to a doctor's instructions.
Type of test: This is a qualitative test indicating whether a drug is present in a urine sample - it will not indicate a quantitative concentration level.
Accuracy of test: Neotest Multi-Drug Dip Card is sensitive enough to detect the presence of drugs at or above the limits mentioned above If drugs are present in the sample, a preliminary (or presumptive) positive test result will be shown and a second test should be conducted at the laboratory.
A secondary test at a laboratory is important to confirm a preliminary positive result as certain foods, food supplements, beverages, or medicines could affect the results of the test kits.
There are many factors that may affect the accuracy of this test, including (but not limited to): Improper testing procedure; Improper storage of urine; Food or drinks consumed before the test; Other prescription or over-the-counter drugs the individual may have ingested before the test.
The drug clearance rate indicates how soon an individual may have a positive test result after taking a particular drug. It also indicates how long the individual may continue to test positive after the last time the individual took the drug. Clearance rates for common drugs of abuse are given below. However, these are only guidelines and times can vary significantly from these estimates based on how long the individual has been taking the drug, the amount of drugs used, or the individual's metabolism. The lines need not be the same shade or intensity. The control line may look darker than a test line, or vice versa. A light test line indicates a negative result. As long as a line is present in the Test (T) Region, it is an indication that the drugs are not at or above the cut off limits mentioned previously.
If a line on a test strip is not clear, the result will be more accurate after 5 minutes. Most negative results are more clearly readable after a few minutes. To be sure of a positive, wait 5 minutes but not longer than 10 minutes.
